Flight display
Ground speed, heading, altitude above take-off or sea level, and distance and direction back to your launch point.
Moving map
OpenStreetMap with your track, a line home, and waypoint groups you plan on your phone.
Wind & weather
Wind speed, gusts and direction at four heights, plus cloud cover, rain and temperature for the next four hours.
Variometer
Climb and sink rate from the watch's barometer, with optional audio tones.
Automatic recording
Every flight is recorded as a GPX track and sent to the companion phone app, where you can replay it on a map with altitude and speed charts.
Built for the wrist
Swipe between screens, always-on display support, and a tile and watch-face indicator during flight. Works with most gloves.
The watch app
A screen for every job
Swipe up or down on the watch to move between screens. Long-press the flight screen to open the settings.
Flight data
The screen you'll look at most, packed into a layout you learn in one flight.
- Heading with the nearest compass point
- Ground speed and altitude, above take-off (QFE) or sea level (QNH)
- Distance to home or your next waypoint, and flight time
- A pointer to home or the waypoint, plus battery, signal and vario sound indicators
Moving map
An OpenStreetMap moving map with your position, heading and track in orange.
- A dashed line always points to home or your selected waypoint
- Tap to cycle zoom levels; they adapt to fit your waypoints
- Press and hold to cycle through waypoints, and let go to pick one
- North-up or heading-up, with an optional dark map
Wind forecast
Forecast wind at 10 m, 80 m, 120 m and 180 m, now and for the next four hours, updated for where you are.
- Arrows on each line show the wind direction
- The shaded band shows the gust range near the ground
- Current speed and direction at the bottom
These are forecasts, not measurements. Use them alongside your own judgement.
Cloud, rain & temperature
A four-hour outlook for your location.
- Low cloud cover as a percentage, with blue sky above it
- Rain shown as blue bars
- Temperature trend in °C or °F
Variometer
Climb and sink rate from the watch's barometer, on a dial beside a moving altitude tape.
- Optional vario tones; long-press to switch the sound on or off
- Can be turned off completely in settings if you don't need it

What you need
- A Wear OS watch with GPS. A barometer is needed for the variometer and accurate altitude.
- An Android phone with the StuFly companion app, for waypoints, settings and your flight log.
- A StuFly subscription through Google Play, which starts with a free trial.
Watch compatibility
There are many Wear OS watches and testing every one isn't possible. The best way to find out how well StuFly works on yours is to start the free trial. Demo mode shows most of the features on the ground, or take it on a flight or a few walks.
Buying a watch for StuFly? Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 series watches have been tested and work fully. Older models can cost under £60. A bigger screen is easier to read in flight.
